Assured Systems Presents New Intel Cedar Trail Products
Intel is working hard on the new Atom CPU range, always pushing the boundaries of performance versus power consumption. Assured Systems offers hundreds of systems based around Atom technology, and the latest in the line are the new
Cedar Trail platforms, offering the best performance versus power consumption yet. We released a number of Cedar Trail based products earlier this year, most notably our low cost digital signage platform, the
NDIS 126. The Atom D2700 used on that system runs at 2.13GHz and features Hyper-Threading and Virtualization technologies, and has an on-chip GPU clocked at 640 MHz.
The latest CPU in the Cedar Trail family (which, importantly, is also included on the long-term embedded roadmap) is called Intel Atom D2550. The CPU runs at 1.86 GHz, and, as stated by Intel product database, doesn't support Virtualization; however, new features in the D2550, that are also present in the D2700, are Hyper-Threading, and an increased GPU clock speed to 640 MHz. All D2xxx series CPUs are built on 32nm technology, and fit into 10 Watt TDP.
Powered by the Intel Atom Dual Core D2550 1.86 GHz CPU alongside the NM10 Platform Controller Hub, the latest small form factor embedded computer from Assured Systems is the NISE 104, which features increased graphics and computing performance, but consumes 3 Watts less power compared with previous generation Atom platforms! Even with the performance enhancement, NISE 104 still uses a compact fanless and cable free chassis which has become synonymous with the NISE product series. The NISE 104 also offers dual independent display capability through DVI-I and HDMI connectors, Dual Intel GbE LAN ports, 6x USB 2.0, 2x RS-232, 2x RS-232/422/485, CFast socket and a mini-PCIe socket for optional wireless module connection, either WiFi or 3.5G module.
